For us, by us

ROYA is a Boston-based multicultural non-profit organization founded in 2020. Since then, we have doubled our programming in the community. Starting with hosting anti-racism discussions, community forums, and voter registration drives in 2020, ROYA has engaged residents from all over the city of Boston and the greater Boston area. ROYA has hosted several public seminars/workshops around anti-racism, advocacy strategies, and community building. Some of our previous larger events include networking events, panel discussions with leaders in arts and culture, and community open mics where 250+ people attend and 20+ local artists perform in open space that centers joy, storytelling, music, community building and provides attendees with resources and information on artist residencies, grants, job opportunities, health insurance, and BIPOC mental wellness organizations.

ROYA is Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) led emerging organization that operates within an equity and justice lens. We continue to grow our work with communities via building capacity and creating growth opportunities that Educate, Advocate, and Empower through centering community arts and culture. The ROYA team is committed to practicing principles of equity and justice in our organizational structure, in our practices, and in the work we do with and within our communities.
